42º Fantasporto

The city of Porto, a beautiful Baroque city, capital of northern Portugal, overlooking the Douro River and considered one of the "Best Tourist Destination in Europe", has been receiving for 42 years one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world. Held annually since 1981, there are always ten days of Celebration to celebrate cinema and, where the world of cinema and a loyal audience merge into a multifaceted program, with a genre emphasis, fantastic cinema. It's no wonder that alongside a horror film, an intimate drama, documentary or author's film is screened. There are 6 sections, four of them competitive and that "feed" the latest world productions from about 50 countries per year and that bring to Porto a total of 100 to 150 films, between short and feature films, and all of them unpublished in Portugal.
