Company A Tarumba’s new production takes inspiration from the universe of Gogol and Jacques Prévert, resorting to objects and paper-made articulated dolls, creating a kitsch, unusual and festive atmosphere in a way reminiscent of Russia...

A Tarumba – Teatro de Marionetas was established in 1993, aiming at developing work of great technical and artistic quality, and continuously innovating puppet theatre in Portugal. Every year, the company programmes and produces FIMFA Lx, which received the Theatre Review Award 2010 given by the Portuguese Association of Theatre Critics. In the scope of the Festival, the company’s artistic directors, Luís Vieira and Rute Ribeiro, were awarded the Personality Award 2013, as part of the Multimedia National Award given by APMP –Multimedia Association. The company works out of CAMa – Puppetry Arts Centre, which also acts as a place to develop projects, such as the international training programme Projecto Funicular.
