Amarelo Silvestre

A reflexion on prejudice and porcelain toads in the shape of theatre for families. In Portugal, there are porcelain toads on display in commercial establishments to ward off people. Established in 2009, the Amarelo Silvestre theatre company carries out its work out of Canas de Senhorim, Nelas. It performs contemporary theatre created in a semi-urban environment, aware of life and the world. It places special emphasis on plays written in Portuguese and on the actor’s choreographic body on stage. Word and body are the two cornerstones of Amarelo Silvestre’s artistic purpose. Fernando Giestas and Rafaela Santos are its artistic directors. Paula Trepado and Susana Rocha are in charge of administrative management and executive production. The Directorate-General for the Arts co-finances Amarelo Silvestre in 2018 and 2019.
