Sinopse
“The verbal description of an image is only a symbol for an actual physical action, just as a road map is only a symbol for an actual location.” — Daniel Lepkoff
VERBAL IMAGES proposes the use of a manipulable scenic device to explore actions of observation, communication and interpretation as means of evasion. Starting from the informal sharing of experiences associated with images that arouse our affection, whether real or imaginary, the aim is to create a performative installation, adaptable to different contexts, taking performers and spectators on a common journey, enriched by their different perspectives.

Author's bio text
Ana Renata Polónia develops her artistic work between architecture and the performing arts. In 2009 she completed her master's degree in architecture at FAUP – Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto [Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto], and attended, in 2015, the FAICC – Formação Avançada em Interpretação e Criação Coreográfica of Instável - Centro Coreográfico and, in 2017, the Specialized Training Course in Scenography, at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Minho. Since 2012, she has been developing her own creations or in collaboration with other artists, focusing on the creation of scenic devices that seek to question the relationships between performers, audiences and spaces of representation, exploring the concepts of scale, materiality and intimacy.
