Sinopse

Christos Papadopoulos’s work revolves around energy and mystery and is largely influenced by nature. In this piece, he explores mycelium, a vast underground fungal network, to create a dance of proliferating connections shifting the perception of relationships within a group. Under the direction of Cédric Andrieux, the Ballet de L’Opéra de Lyon keeps on exploring the highest standards of contemporary dance, with an emphasis on complemental repertoires. With the Ballet’s legacy in mind, Cédric Andrieux is determined to continue making it the home of the greatest choreographers of yesterday, today and tomorrow.The 2024-2025 season is just as audacious, with pieces by Mette Ingvartsen, Rachid Ouramdane, Trisha Brown, Jan Martens, Jiří Kylián, Ohad Naharin, Nacera Belaza, Noé Soulier and Lucinda Childs. Deeply rooted into its region and relevant on the international scene, the company is devoted to telling and writing part of the history of dance with constant awareness to the issues of our time.

Christos Papadopoulos studied dance and choreography at SNDO Amsterdam, theatre at the National Theatre Drama School, and political science in Athens. Founder of the company Leon and the Wolf, his works Opus, Elvedon, Ion, Larsen C, Mellowing (Dance on Ensemble), Mycelium (with Ballet de L’Opéra de Lyon), Ties Unseen (with NDT1), My Fierce Ignorant Step, have toured internationally. In 2025, he received the Rose International Dance Award from Sadler’s Wells. Christos has also collaborated with Dimitris Papaioannou, Giorgos Lanthimos and others.
