COMPANHIA CAÓTICA

It is aplay-shaped reflexion of a man – who is not yet old, but also no longer young – on this continuous process that changes its name along the way. With all that growing up and ageing have in common and all that distinguishes them; with what we imagine ourselves being when we grow up, and what we remember being when we were children. Resorting once again to film, music, and autobiography, and pursuing our relation with film history, “Crevescer”plays with the idea of sequel. While it is not the continuation of “Sopa Nuvem”(2011), we come across the same pair of friends in “Crevescer”, only a few years later: António (António-Pedro) and his friend Gonçalo (Gonçalo Alegria). António, the oldest one, has a mood typical of grown-ups, but incomprehensible to children: he doesn’t want to have his birthday.  

Caroline Bergeron and António-Pedro founded Companhia Caótica in 2009. It creates performances, workshops and films for young audiences, families and adults alike, crossing theatre, music, film, puppets and visual arts. Interweaving humour and poetry, and fiction and reality, its creations become a conduit to true sharing. Caótica is regularly present on national and international stages and festivals. Its production “Sopa Nuvem”won the Momix Award in 2014 and the Coup de Coeur at Ourcéanie. Since 2015, Companhia organises the Caótica Festival and the international meeting Creation for Childhood, in Loulé
