Sinopse

Forecasting is based on a collection of amateur videos from the biggest video sharing and website, YouTube. Alone on stage, Barbara Matijević handles a laptop computer that plays a selection of videos made by anonymous users. Moving on stage with the laptop, Barbara Matijević shapes her body as a seamless extension of the two-dimensional world of videos. The result is a dizzying hybrid experience of reality and virtuality, an intriguing and humorous dialogue that transcends time and space, challenging the way in which technology affects our senses, our relationship with objects and movement and our understanding of presence.

Giuseppe Chico (Italy) and Barbara Matijević (Croatia) founded their company, Premier Stratagème, in 2009, in Paris, France. Both active in the performing arts — dance for Barbara and theatre for Giuseppe —, their artistic liaison especially stemmed from their shared interest in visual arts, more specifically in conceptual and performance art. Together they created a corpus of performative works that have been presented at a variety of venues, festivals, museums and art centers in Europe, Asia and South-America.
