Sinopse
HIDE TO SEEK intends to think about the dual nature of masks: as the crystallisation of an expression, state of mind or identity, but also as the possibility of cancelling the ‘self’, to let the other emerge in the body. In a tense and childish game of hiding and seeking the body, the latter is redefined with each gesture, letting itself be taken by the imposed transformation of the expression, thus establishing a dialogue between immutable shape and changeable shape. It is commonly said that the mask ‘hides to reveal’. In HIDE TO SEEK, one transfers impositions from mask to body and from body to mask. — Júlio Cerdeira
