In 2018, the collective (LA)HORDE, which explores and works on the new dance generations of the post-Internet age, made its first appearance in Portugal. After a forklifts ballet crossed the D. João I square (Porto) in Ballet de Machines, and a community of jumpers from several countries frantically rattled Rivoli’s stage in To Da Bone, in the scope of DDD – Festival Dias da Dança, the company returns with a new challenge. In 'Marry me in Bassiani', they wanted to look into the youths of Tbilisi, Georgia, and their demonstrations in front of Parliament. History moves in cycles, and dance is once again in the history of this country a peaceful form of protest and a place for youth liberation. Bodies and techno music shake against the attacks taking place in clubs around the city. After several meetings with these dancers and lengthy talks with the directors of the Georgian National Ballet, they decided to work together. 'Marry me in Bassiani' builds on the unique Georgian experience of embracing tradition, folk and political action through dance in social media nowadays.

(LA)HORDE is a collective founded by three artists Marine Brutti, Jonathan Debrouwer and Arthur Harel. They make films, video installations, performances, theatre plays and choreographic pieces, questioning the codes of the different artistic disciplines. (LA HORDE) creates unstable universes and hypnotic fictions, questioning the way the audience enjoys and understands a work of art. They have been working on and with online communities and the notion of post-internet art.
