The overvaluation of urban spaces finds shelter in the notion of evolution, which knows no con-straints when the goal is the accidental repurpose of its population or its deliberate control.


SARA SILVA was born in Porto. She is a dancer, teacher, choreographer and the director at the Matosinhos Dance Company. She has degrees in Classical and Contemporary Dance from the Central School of Ballet (London) and the Northern School of Contemporary Dance (Leeds), and Choreography from the Advanced Training in Performance and Choreographic Creation (Companhia Instável). She performed for the Phoenix Dance Theatre, North Dance Company, Vórtice Dance, Abundance, Kale Dance Company and Matosinhos Dance Company. She co-founded Corpo de Encontro, and she is currently studying at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden.

THAMIRIS CARVALHO was born in 1991, in Rio de Janeiro, where she started her career as a professional dancer in 2008 with Deborah Colker and Esther Weitzman. She lives in Portugal since 2013, and she joined the Kale Dance Company (Porto), performing pieces by Isabel Ariel, Elisabeth Lambeck, Joclécio Azevedo and Paula Moreno. She recently performed pieces by Davis Freeman, Sara Barbosa/O Cão Danado, Renan Martins de Oliveira, Northern Contemporary Ballet and Carlota Lagido. She co-founded Corpo de Encontro and participated in the Advanced Training in Performance and Choreographic Creation 2019 (Companhia Instável).

VINICIUS FERREIRA is a photographer, documentary filmmaker and visual artist. He has a degree in Journalism from the Positive University (Brazil) and a degree in Documentary Filmmaking from EICTV – The International Film and TV School (Cuba). He’s currently pursuing a master’s degree in Multimedia – Culture and Art at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. He focusses on translating dormant societal issues into distinct visual languages through photography, video and video art. He held collective and solo exhibitions, aside from writing for newspapers and magazines at home and abroad. Sara Silva was born in Porto.
