Porta-Jazz

The Porta-Jazz Festival is back to Teatro Rivoli in a much anticipated return. After a year of indecisions and prohibitions, the Porta-Jazz Association is able to once again celebrate the Festival indoors and thus return processes that were halted and changed during these pandemic years to normal.
This festival shall once again be the largest showcase of the Association’s intense activity, which is mostly based on promoting the local jazz scene, be it with a regular, weekly programme, or with the several partnerships taking place throughout the year, not forgetting the releases by the Porta-Jazz label, which has already launched 77 records. The Festival is also the place to strengthen international partnerships and exchanges that truly enhance the milieu, open it to the outside world and establish bridges.
The 12th Porta-Jazz Festival will feature more than ten concerts and involve several dozen musicians from Portugal and abroad, comprising commissioned works, premieres, new in-residence creations and interactions with other artistic fields such as dance and visual arts.
Three intense days with jazz and the best improvised music in these parts.
