Queer Porto 7

The 7th edition of Queer Porto – International Queer Film Festival returns to Teatro Rivoli, which will host the festival’s three competitive sections, and reaches other places in the city, such as the Casa Comum at the rectory of the University of Porto, the Faculty of Fine Arts and Maus Hábitos.
Aside from screening some of the most important queer films produced in the past two years, Queer Porto 7 hosts a parallel programme that commemorates the 25th anniversary of its Lisbon counterpart, including films, performances and scholar activities looking at the history of queer film and activism, celebrating its leading figures and artistic expressions, and assessing their impact in our society. Queer Porto will also welcome German film director Monika Treut, an outstanding name in European new queer film since the 1980s, who will present Genderation, a documentary that after more than 20 years looks at the main characters from her classic film Gendernauts, which is also featured in the programme for this year’s edition of the festival.
