Sinopse
Emotional sweet and sour sonoplastic caloric bomb is one of the multiple descriptions that we can add to the queue to portray the project of the multidisciplinary artist duo from Minho, Cire and Lee. Thirsty since birth, they use boredom like a Bimby—crushing and tearing apart musical genres enclosed in solid forms specific to their standard. (And not only.)
In a Do-It-Yourself and openly punk-paneleira practice, they create sound and visual manifestos through speaking in tongue bitches in a cross between languages—Portuguese/French/English: and also languages in the literal sense of the expression. As Docinhas are already one of the icons of Viana do Castelo confectionery together with Doce Sidónio, but instead of almonds with sugar and coffin-shaped eggs—they put toxic binary, shyness and modesty in a scalded pot, pleasantly swallowing these concepts. down the throat, without leaving a residue.
A “poorly played rock” with bittersweet moans that slip and dissolve like eggs in sugar in a well-liquefied electronic jazz. An improvised sweetener that uses brainstorm as a magic wand from funk—kizomba, to blues, transforming the lyrics into installations and the instruments into materials that will design their moods and the neurotic psychotic world of which we are all part. But as A Vida é uma F3ri(d)a Constante to try to improve it (or not) they released the first EP in 2019 that has this statement as the title and Been There Done That Eh as motivational musical-pills. In 2021 and after a year of pandemic spirit, they released XANO, their first album and with the title of tribute to Alexandre, who started the sweaty and broken journey of As Docinhas. In this album they chose to follow a practice also like that of Bimby and mixed musicians, techniques & traumas, violin, guitars & keyboards, best friend drummer Pedro, some satisfaction, dissatisfaction, emotional disorders, Aiaiaiai, and horny. — Reina del Mar
