Sinopse
It is said that the Male Lunatic is subject to the influence of moons, that he is a maniac or a visionary. The Female Lunatic is also moonstruck, eccentric and crazy. What is true is that they both live at Luna Park. An amusement park hidden in one of the faces of the moon, where one can imagine anything and be moonstruck at one’s will... A visual and experimental journey for all ages about the several ways in which Man used to see or represent his image in relation to the universe. The countless phantasies created in liaison to what surrounds us and to what may be on the other side. There are never-ending sources to put together a performance based on image, dream and thought.
Tarumba means to confuse, to daze, to stun or to amaze, words that express the company’s general feeling toward puppetry arts. A Tarumba – Teatro de Marionetas, whose artistic directors are Luís Vieira and Rute Ribeiro, was established in 1993, aiming at developing work of great technical and artistic quality, and at continuously innovating puppet theatre in Portugal. Every year, the company programmes and produces FIMFA Lx – International Festival of Puppetry and Animated Forms. The company works out of CAMa – Puppetry Arts Centre, which features a documentation centre and hosts an international training programme.
