Sinopse
Between laughter and despair, a small world comes to life. Based on the original text by Nikolai Gogol, this performance combines actors, objects, marionettes and animated theatre to reveal the invisible driving force behind an anonymous life, lost in some office or department: loneliness, the desire to be seen, the struggle for a name, a place, a new coat. At the intersection of gesture and inanimate matter, the actor-puppeteers share the stage with figures and marionettes that rise, fall apart and are reborn, whilst live music accompanies and amplifies the emotions, creating a constant dialogue between sound, body and image. — Alma d’Arame & O Teatrão

Alma d'Arame, founded in 2006 in the municipality of Montemor-o-Novo, aims to contribute to the promotion and democratisation of access to the performing arts, with a particular focus on puppet theatre. It seeks to celebrate the heritage of traditional puppetry and promote contemporary forms. Its performances seek to introduce audiences of all ages to the different forms and approaches of puppet and object theatre, ranging from traditional techniques to more modern and technological methods.
O Teatrão, founded in 1994 in Coimbra, aims to bring the art of theatre closer to communities and local areas, promoting equal access for all audiences to its activities, in line with its political stance on the role of art and culture in the development of individuals and communities.
