Sinopse

In this version, where other characters from the universe of Charles Perrault are mixed in, the audience is involved in a plot laden with comical and unexpected events, reflecting the vicissitudes of human behaviour.

Teatro de Marionetas do Porto was formed in 1988. The company’s theatrical practice shows an unconventional vision of marionettes, and this concept is always being updated. The company understands marionette theatre as a poetic and imagetic language, evoking contemporaneity. We aim to find new forms of conceiving the marionettes, ultimately kinetic objects, and new possibilities of exploring the grammar of this theatrical language, regarding interpretation and the transversal relationship with other areas of expression such as dance, arts, music and image. The company’s activities range from performances in the city of Porto, where it has a strong audience, and intense travelling activity with performances in Portugal and abroad. In 2013 Teatro de Marionetas do Porto celebrated 25 years and fulfilled the dream of its founder João Paulo Seara Cardoso (1956¬2010), the opening of Museu das Marionetas do Porto/Porto Marionettes Museum.
