A man wakes up to find a strange creature from the underbelly of the earth. At first, they test each other, observe each other, confront each other, then tame each other, to finally find their anchor point. A new world is then invented, where nature and humanity merge, rooting in each other and plunging us into a profound peace. Ancrage is a search for identity, a return to the essential, to our roots, to the land. Anchor us in what is deepest in us to better stand up and overcome ourselves. — Cie SenCirk
Cie SenCirk is an artistic project founded in 2006 as the first circus structure in Senegal. With a solid base of activities in schools and social structures, it promotes workshops and trains young Senegalese artists allowing them artistic and physical development, social and professional integration through the circus. In 2012, they presented CHIOPITE/EVOLUTION, the company's first show. Ancrage is the latest creation to premiere in 2023.
