Sinopse
Could this be a magic potion to awaken the most conservative minds to a party right on stage? Europe’s contemporary dance got to know her in 2013. For the first time in Portugal, she presents the performance “Dancing Grandmothers”, which will turn Rivoli’s stage into a giant dance floor, combining the indestructible energy of Korean grandmothers and the young dancers from Eun-Me Ahn’s company. A journey through time and movement that turns into a collective trance.
Eun-Me Ahn was born in South Korea, in 1963. She started dancing at the age of 11, based on the work of Isadora Duncan and on contemporary dance. From 1986 to 1992, she danced with the Korean Modern Dance Company and the Korean Contemporary Dance Company, in Seoul. She started choreographing in 2001, and created her company, the Daegu Metropolitan City Dance Company. Among other works, she created “Dancing Grandmothers”in 2011, a piece based on the lives and gestures of Korean grandmothers.
