Sinopse
The KISMIF Conference and Summer School provides participants with a unique forum to discuss and share information with regard to underground cultures and DIY (Do-It-Yourself) practises. It focusses on cultural practises used to counter more large-scale, standardised forms of cultural production, creation and mediation, highlighting the “making crafts” of everyday life. It is currently the only congress in the world that analyses the theory and practise of underground scenes and DIY cultures as increasingly meaningful cultural forms of standing up against global social changes. KISMIF favours a cross-disciplinary approach, and so the programme for the 2021 edition, which takes place between July 6 and 10 at several venues in the city under the heading of “DIY Cultures and Global Challenges”, includes concerts, documentaries and exhibitions, as well as conferences and book releases, whose goal is to discuss not only music, but also other artistic fields, such as cinema and video, graffiti and urban art, theatre and performing arts, literature and poetry, radio, programming and editing, graphic design, illustration, architecture, cartoons and comic books.
