Mafalda Deville

This work is based on stories of joy, love, violence and solitude of mothers aged 13 to 18. These stories are the result of a research made with a group of young mothers from north London, in 2012, while I was working in a dance community project for social rehabilitation. I was a mother in those conditions and 20 years later, besides the geographical and cultural differences, many questions remain the same. I’ve invited female dancers, also mothers, to dance these stories, and Israel Pimenta to create the images.
