Sinopse

Post-Columbus history is rooted in an understanding of globalisation and progress that is unilateral, racist, anthropocentric, capitalist, patriarchal and heterosexist. Post-World War II created an illusion of brotherhood and equality without challenging the powers that be. The order that we’ve thus far recognised places it and its lineage at the centre, crushes and erases diversity, distorts its historic presence, confabulates normalcy, and prescribes competitive solutions for individual happiness and achievement. This colonial paradigm of society and productivity is ailing. The pandemic confronts us with the failure of work, money and assets as the structuring goals for the great purposes in life. Could we be ready for a new chapter? Can we think of an inclusive, fair and sustainable future not knowing who we are in the mirror of history? Not retrieving stories and knowledge from other centres and protagonists? Can there be an enforceable future without a variety of worldviews?
This edition of MICAR seeks the voices and bodies whose memories and vision have been kept on the sidelines. We shall analyse the role women, youngsters and art have in social change. So as to with them and through them regain the right to past memory, decolonise world order and claim the right to the future!
