Sinopse

Showroom is a performance about the replacement of humans by machines. In a white box, an actress gives voice in turn to a trade show host, a taxi driver, a cashier, a lift attendant, a provincial store clerk... The basis of a society built on the idea of progress that is gradually being replaced. Human lives that have become the residue of productivity, now relegated to the periphery and erased. Showroom is a museum piece, a life-size diorama, the artefact of a universe about to go extinct.

Following an academic career in anthropology, sociology and political science at the University of Lausanne, Igor Cardellini collaborated on the dramaturgy of Emilie Charriot's projects (King Kong Théorie, Ivanov and Passion Simple). Adaptations in which he questions the relationships between gender, sex and social class. At the same time, he met Tomas Gonzalez and Rebecca Balestra with whom he founded the collective BALESTRA | CARDELLINI | GONZALEZ, associated with the Théâtre de Vidy in Lausanne. In their productions, he is interested in power and the way in which the theatrical situation creates effects of reality. He is a member of the committee of the Belluard Bollwerk festival and a journalist for several Swiss daily newspapers.

After a Bachelor's degree in Theatre at the Manufacture, Rébecca Balestra  started to develop her own pieces of slam poetry. First with Flashdanse, then Tropique, Show Set, Piano bar and more recently Olympia, all solo works. In 2013 she was awarded the Studer/Ganz playwriting prize. As a performer she works with the collective tg stan, and directors such as Anne Bisang, Michèle Pralong, Natacha Koutch oumov, Mathieu Bertholet, Jean Liermier and Hervé Loichemol.

Tomas Gonzalez graduated in Arts at the University of Lausanne and in Theatre at the Manufacture-HEARTS, a school where he teaches since 2017 and where he shares with Anne Pellois a sensitive approach to the history of acting. His research focuses on the processes of copying, imitation and reactivation. As an actor or artistic collaborator, he works with directors Jérôme Bel, Milo Rau, Yan Duyvendak, Stefan Kaegi, Mohammad Al Attar, Sara Leghissa, Karim Bel Kacem or Emilie Charriot.
