Teatro de Ferro

This is the second part of a series dedicated to objects, which started with Objetoteca Popular Itinerante [Travelling Popular Objectheque]. The apparatus of a lecture is the starting point for this new approach to the world of things. Same as all the others, this scheme is a way to organise objects (a table, chairs, microphones, etc.), bodies, speeches and a few rules — some written, others implied. This is no ordinary lecture, however: the speaker is an actor, and his presentation is a performance in which objects still insist on adding a few words. Things, objects have a very special way of communicating — with us and among them. Our guest will try to present some ideas on the subject. Will he be able to do so right in the middle of an object uprising? 


Teatro de Ferro was established in 1999. The company has been working with puppets and objects. Its practice is based on research whose matrix is the puppet with its possible hybridisations. The relation between the body-performer and the manipulated object, and the commitment of each spectator to build that same relation constitute lines of thinking that are always present in its artistic practice.
