Sinopse

An impossible wish weaves a story in which love is the starting point for everything. A story about feelings and their nature, in which desire takes on such magnitude that the impossibility of something happening becomes a moot point. Eu quero a Lua! (I want the Moon!) is the story of a little girl called Alice, who lived in a country by the sea and had everything a little girl could want. But the most important thing of all was missing: the Moon. It was so important that it made her ill and spurred her father on with a tremendous desire to make her dream come true. But was it really the Moon that Alice wanted?

Eu quero a Lua! reveals how a true friend can be the key to all our desires and that, in a child’s eyes, the unattainable is easy to achieve. —  Partículas Elementares

Author's bio text

Since 2003, the Partículas Elementares theatre company has been developing work in the fields of puppet theatre, object theatre and visual storytelling. Its creations are based on minimalist staging to explore the relationship between actor, object and audience, constructing worlds in which matter takes on meaning through gesture and manipulation. By treating the puppeteer’s presence as an integral part of the theatrical language, the company reveals the mechanisms of animation and invites the audience to participate in the construction of the imaginary world. It has performed at various theatres and festivals both nationally and internationally, and has created shows such as Eu Quero a Lua!NinhoO Nabo Gigante and João e o Pé de Feijão
